ShelfLife

Intro
Shelf Life is a thoughtfully designed mobile application that helps users track their pantry inventory, monitor expiration dates, and create meals using ingredients they already own. The project was created to address a common yet often overlooked problem: food waste caused by disorganization, overbuying, and lack of meal inspiration. The app allows users to log grocery items, view upcoming expiration dates, and receive visual cues to use ingredients before they go bad. By turning the pantry into a digital, real-time inventory, Shelf Life removes the guesswork from grocery shopping and meal prepping and saves users time, money, and food. Beyond organization, Shelf Life emphasizes creativity and community in the kitchen. The built-in recipe feature suggests meals based on available ingredients and allows users to share and discover recipes from others. This encourages more intentional cooking, reduces reliance on unnecessary grocery trips, and helps users feel confident creating meals with what they already have. The grocery list further streamlines the experience by tracking items as they run low, making shopping faster and more efficient. With a clean, intuitive interface and user-centered functionality, Shelf Life is designed for students, families, and busy individuals who want a smarter, more sustainable approach to everyday cooking. This project showcases skills in UX/UI design, problem-solving, interaction design, and brand storytelling, while highlighting a commitment to sustainability and practical digital solutions. Shelf Life transforms everyday kitchen habits into a seamless, organized, and empowering experience.
